Your privacy matters

We collect only what we need to provide our service:

• Account information: Your email address and name when you sign up.
• Notes content: Only if you enable cloud sync. Notes are encrypted and stored securely.
• Usage data: Basic analytics like page views to improve the app. No personal tracking.

We use your data to:

• Provide and maintain the AI Notes service
• Sync your notes across devices (if you enable this)
• Send important updates about the service
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve the app based on how it's used

We do NOT use your data to show ads, sell to third parties, or train AI models.

When you use AI features, we send data to the AI provider you choose:

• What's sent: Only the text you select for AI processing.
• Providers: Google (Gemini), OpenAI, Anthropic, or your local Ollama setup.
• Your control: You choose which provider to use. You provide your own API keys.

Each provider has their own privacy policy. We recommend reading them:

AI Notes uses a local-first approach. This means:

• Notes are stored on your device first (in your browser's storage)
• You can use the app without an internet connection
• Cloud sync is optional and can be disabled
• If you clear browser data, local notes are removed

You have the right to:

• Access: See all data we have about you
• Export: Download all your notes anytime
• Delete: Remove your account and all data
• Correct: Update your information

We keep your data as long as you have an account. When you delete your account:

• All notes and personal data are permanently deleted within 30 days
• Backup copies are removed within 90 days
• We may keep anonymized analytics data

We protect your data with:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Encrypted storage for cloud-synced notes
• Secure authentication with OAuth providers
• Regular security reviews

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through the app. Continued use of AI Notes after changes means you accept the new policy.
